FAQ

Is the .ico file a real ICO?
Yes. The tool writes a proper ICO container with 16, 32 and 48 pixel images, and verifies the structure before offering it for download. It is not a renamed PNG.
Is transparency preserved?
Yes for the PNG sizes and the ICO, unless you choose to fill the padding with a color. The Apple touch icon always gets a solid background because iOS shows transparency as black.
Which image should I upload?
A square image of at least 512×512 px with simple shapes works best, because favicons are shown very small. SVG logos give the sharpest result.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The icons are created in your browser, and the image never leaves your device.
Why is my SVG rejected?
SVG files can contain scripts or links to outside resources. For safety, files with scripts, event handlers, foreignObject or external references are not accepted.
Where do I put the files?
Upload them to the root of your website and paste the generated HTML lines into the head of your pages.
